Tooth Removal

At Tooth Dental, we believe that it is best to hang on to your own teeth. However there will be times when tooth removal is necessary, such as:

  • Extensively decayed teeth where Root canal therapy is not an option
  • Teeth with advanced Periodontal disease
  • Impacted teeth such as wisdom teeth
  • Tooth removal in preparation for orthodontics

If you require a tooth to be removed, we will endeavour to ensure that you are numb and comfortable. If required, we can perform the extraction under Nitrous Oxide Sedation. Following the extraction, you will be given instructions on how to care for your mouth and maintain the extraction site. We will also discuss your options for replacing missing teeth. Our friendly staff will contact you in the following days to confirm that everything is healing up according to plan.

Replacing Missing Teeth

When teeth are lost, there can be long term effects on the rest of the mouth. Spaces in your mouth can be unsightly, and the surrounding teeth can drift or tilt into the extraction space. There are several options for replacing missing teeth, including dentures, bridges or implants. If you are concerned about missing teeth, please contact our friendly staff on (07) 3366 1737.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
