General and Preventative Dentistry

At Tooth Dental, we strongly believe that prevention is far superior to cure. Dental problems, such as gum disease and dental caries, are often asymptomatic until there is an emergency. This can result in more expensive, and extensive dental treatment (such as root canal therapy, crowns or extractions). Regular 6 monthly dental visits will result in earlier diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, or better yet prevention altogether.

At tooth dental, we encourage you to have your teeth checked every 6 months. At your 6 month preventative check-up, you can expect to have your mouth thoroughly examined. Your dentist may take photos of your mouth, and take x-rays if you are due. Your teeth will then be thoroughly cleaned, and fluoride may be applied.

If there are any concerns, your dentist will discuss the diagnosis and all treatment options available in easy-to-understand language and arrange follow up visits. They will also discuss how home care, such as brushing and flossing, can prevent oral disease.
