During the COVID-19 pandemic we are taking additional steps to make sure everyone can stay healthy and safe when visiting Tooth Dental.
All of staff are proudly fully vaccinated and will be receiving their booster shots from January 2022.
As an essential health service, our practice will be available for vaccinated and unvaccinated patients. Dental professionals have an increased occupational risk of COVID-19 because of their routine exposure to patients’ airways as well as performing aerosol-generating procedures. If you are considered high-risk, you may wish to consider whether wearing a mask may be appropriate to help protect yourself, other patients, our staff and your loved ones.
As an extra precaution, Tooth Dental will be performing Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT – nasal or saliva) on all patients that have not had a negative PCR or RAT test in the past 72 hours. Patients will be asked to show proof of their negative result. This is only for patients that will be having aerosol-generating procedures ( scale and clean, restoration, surgical extraction). Patients under the age of five, will not require a test for their examination and cleans (no ultrasonic scaler will be used). The cost of $10.00 per test will be passed on to the patient.
It is very important that you inform us in advance if anyone in your household is unwell with cold or flu-like symptoms, even mild, or self-isolating because they are at risk of becoming unwell.
Unfortunately, due to strict public health requirements you will be unable to attend your appointment if anyone in your household is unwell, in self-isolation or have been in an area identified as high risk for community transmission. We will of course treat this information in strict confidence and will be happy to reschedule your appointment for another time.
We will be keeping up to date with the ever- changing advice, recommendations and guidelines from all government and governing bodies (The Australian Dental Association) mandates as they develop and change.
We kindly request that ONLY the patient and ONE support person attends the appointment.
